My priorities are for every worker to be safe, be valued by the business, go home to their family at the end of the day and have a place of work to go to the next day.

A highly experienced and qualified Health and Safety Consultant, Carbon Management Advisor, Safe System of Work Expert and Risk Management Specialist. Providing health and safety advice and products such as health and safety policy, risk assessment, risk management, safe system of work, safety first, safety at work, safety audit, safety inspection, procedures, policies, safety management system, safety policy, coshh, manual handling, RAMS, fire risk assessment, safety inspections, and audits. Based in central Scotland, workplace safety is a priority.

From joining my 1st ship as a Deck Officer Cadet, the day after my 16th birthday to my present position, health and safety has been a fundamental part of all my roles. I learnt health & safety by being hands on, (no one to help at sea or offshore), listening and learning from others as well as time studying.

I am pragmatic and believe in using a positive safety culture where I can take you and your business to the next level, increasing profits and reducing your overheads.

My priorities are for every worker to be safe, be valued by the business, go home to their family at the end of the day and have a safe place of work to go to the next day.

Trained to think creatively, break tasks down into manageable sections, thus solving those nightmare problems. Risk assessments and RAMS are my specialty, but I am highly experienced in inspections, auditing, COSHH, Manual Handling, CSE, safety reports, observations, and investigations etc.

Experienced at controlling extraordinarily complex and extremely dangerous tasks in the oil and gas industries both offshore and onshore at top tier COMAH sites. Dealing with multi trades and tasks from filling a pothole to demolishing an LPG tank.

Working on behalf of major clients. For BP, over a 3-year period we safely controlled more open flame hot work than the rest of BP worldwide combined. With the safety and cost implications, environmental, health and safety, poor publicity of any incidents or delays can be a little pressure pot. I thrive on the challenge, and I am proud to say that all projects I was involved in had no accidents, incidents, or delays.

I started my own health and safety advice service in 2019. I am level 6 NVQ Diploma & Nebosh qualified, hold RoSPA approved qualification in Fire Risk Assessing, IOSH approved qualification in CDM Regulations, a Graduate member of IOSH (GradIOSH), Full member of International Institute of Risk & Safety Management (MIIRSM), member of IEMA and have CPD training provider accreditation. I believe in continuous improvement, to show that you are never too old to learn, at 60 I completed my diploma, 18 months to complete a 4-year course. I am keen to keep learning and help others.

Working from home, I am now making my 40 years of experience and workplace safety available to you.
